Hi, My name is Nana and I am coordinating this fundraising for 4 smart kids whose mum left them with no one(Story below).

Every mother’s nightmare is dying and leaving their children to the unknown. Every child’s fear is being left without a keeper.

Now imagine all these fears and nightmares coming true when you least expect it.

On 6th August 2022, a young 45-year-old woman by the name of Stella Asiedu died leaving 4 children to care for themselves. These children have been under the sole care for of their mom and grandmother most of their life. Unfortunately, these stories of women raising their children alone are not uncommon. Yet, Ms. Stella Asiedu did not let anything stand in her way as she worked very hard, selling petty supplies like gari and doing whatever she can to carter for her children. Yet, sometimes life can be very sad and unpredictable, as the children’s grandmother Ms. Abena Kyerewaa suddenly died exactly 1 week after her the death of her daughter on 30th September, 2022.

Now, the family had to bury both of the deceased and have one funeral to mourn mother and daughter on November, 19th 2022.

Like previously stated, these children were living under the care of their mom and grandmother. Unfortunately, with both of them being deceased the kids were left with nobody to care for them. The children who are brilliant academically, had to decide how they would eat, survive and have a roof over their head. The oldest had attended school at Ejisu Secondary school. But he could not continue to the University level due to issues with fees and is now working at the Tema harbor doing manual labor. The second child went to Achimota Secondary school. But after finishing with As and Bs, he is currently at home as well. The third child is planning to start Aggrey Memorial and the only girl is yet to start school.

With no mother or grandmother, the friend of the family has been taking the three children in to live with her in Kumasi along with her own 3 children. She is refusing to have these children fail and being a mom herself, she knows that it is the right thing to do to avoid the children from perishing.
