Donate to help Cash & the Reggi family following accident.

On Monday night, August 11th, Cash (13 yrs old) left his home in Northfield on his E-bike to meet his sister at the Linwood park so she didn’t have to ride home in the dark by herself. On the way, he took a turn onto the bike path going way too fast which caused him to crash his E-bike, throwing him face first into the pavement at 29mph.

He was rushed to the trauma center in Atlantic City where doctors decided due to the severity of the injuries and his age to transport him up to CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia).

The accident caused multiple injuries, including a broken jaw (in 3 places), lost teeth, multiple lacerations that required many stitches, road rash on his face and body, as well as endless scrapes & bruises.

Thankfully, he was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash or his injuries could have been FAR worse. For that we’re all very grateful.

On Wednesday, August 13th, Cash underwent surgery at CHOP to move his jaw back into place. They then had to place screws in his jaw and wire it shut for 2-4 weeks (on a liquid only diet) to hold everything in place as it heals. After his jaw has fully healed, in a couple months, the necessary dental work and teeth replacement can begin.

Cash has a long road to recovery ahead. But for those who know him, Cash is one of the most determined & resilient kids you will ever meet. He’s motivated to heal from this as quickly as possible so he can get back onto the ice to do what he loves most, to rejoin his AC Sharks ice hockey team.

I’m hopeful that as a community we can rally around Cash and the Reggi family to show our love and support. And for any of those that wish to do so, to help ease the inevitable financial burden of travel, missed wages, accumulated hospital & doctor bills, as well as future dental expenses.
