Help Caroline Yeo (Bird), Island Magic Resort

Hello, my name is Megan Trask and I am fundraising for Caroline Yeo (Bird) - and the locals at Island Magic Resort, Vanuatu.

Multiple sources on the 17th of December have reported a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck 54 kms from Port Vila. Unfortunately, reports have indicated 16 people killed, and at least 200 people injured - including Caroline and the locals at her beloved Island Magic Resort.

Earthquakes across Shefa Province

As a Bacchus Marsh resident, we all know our local friend Caroline Yeo, who grew up in Bacchus Marsh with her family for many years.

Caroline and her husband Damien moved to Vanuatu to create their dream life, in accordance with the beautiful Island Magic resort - which not only employs many locals, but provides a safe sanctuary for tourists and local families. However, the resort has been severely impacted by the recent earthquakes across Vanuatu - with a loss of water, power, stock, computer equipment, and food - which has only been perpetuated by aftershocks.

Caroline and Damien have lost everything they have worked for at a time that should be filled with love and festivities, instead they are without a safe environment to sleep, left to pick up the pieces and consolidate locals who have lost their homes, children, and other family members.

Unfortunately, their insurance does not cover natural disasters - meaning all attempts to recover what has been destroyed is directly out of the pockets of Caroline, Damien, and locals within Vanuatu.

We recognise the significance of donations in this current economy, especially so close to Christmas, however any donations possible help to ensure the safety of Caroline, and locals at Island Magic Resort.
