We are fundraising for our mother, Carol Sharp. Two weeks ago, she was involved in a car accident which left her car totaled and now she is without any form of transportation.
Then the storm of all storms hurricane Ian barrreled down and in bullseye precision leveled her community of Cape Coral, Florida. Our mother’s apartment took on huge amounts of water (she says it was waist deep) and all of her possessions are destroyed and the apartment is uninhabitable. Making matters even more dire, her insurance will not cover any of the losses.
We are most thankful that she is safe and out of harm’s way and staying with a relative temporarily.
She is 86 years old and facing severe obstacles.
Her funds are limited and we are working on bringing her back to Pennsylvania and helping her find an apartment.
Given the inordinately high rental fees in Pennsylvania area coupled with the fact that she has no clothes/furniture etc., we’re doing something our family has never done, asking for help so she can get back on her feet, find a suitable small apartment and make a fresh start.
Any support, whether through your thoughts and prayers or financially, are more than appreciated.
