Hi everyone, please help us raise funds for Brittany to continue fighting cancer!

For those of you who have had the privilege to get to know Brittany Mez, she fills any room with joy, radiating positivity and passion for life. Over the past two years, she’s modeled perseverance, resilience and pure strength in true Brittany form. As her family, friends, coworkers, and everyone who loves her, we need to unite to support her in her fight against cancer. Please consider assisting Brittany and her husband, Mark, with the funds they will need for her medical treatment in Buffalo and NYC.

In March 2020, Brittany discovered a tumor in her abdomen, and after lots of tests, it was determined that she had Stage IV Melanoma. Brittany had previously fought and conquered Melanoma while living in Brooklyn several years ago, so its return came as a shock. She was also told several other smaller tumors were scattered throughout her body.

Brittany’s support network instantly went into action. A dress-up car parade, meal deliveries to her home, and celebrating all the small wins helped. Brittany underwent immunotherapy, using every trip to the treatment chair at Roswell as a chance to send her loved ones a photo shoot with a giant smile. She never ceases to amaze us.

We saw Brittany embrace healing with gratitude, generosity, love, light, and the steadfastness she is known for. Brittany has always been the rock. When we were sad about her cancer, she let us lean on her, too!

Brittany committed to healing - she changed her diet, cut out any and all toxins, embraced meditation and Reiki, and even became a Reiki Master, sharing her energy healing with all of us. She became a business owner for a holistic store amid cancer treatment and a pandemic.

While making great strides forward, there have also been some setbacks. A much larger tumor was discovered in her abdomen throughout the treatment process, and it was determined that her course of treatment would change from immunotherapy to chemotherapy. With this change, things were going well, and Britt’s mental state never waivered; however, it’s now time to make some changes again. Due to the melanoma acting more like a sarcoma, a chemotherapy more specific to this will be used to target the tumor more effectively.

Brittany will be hospitalized at Roswell for five days, undergoing this chemo, and she’ll be surrounded by her treatment team to assure all goes smoothly.

On October 24th, Brittany and Mark will be flying down to Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital in NYC for a lot of preliminary testing and appointments in hopes of qualifying for a clinical trial. If she qualifies, they will have to stay at/near the hospital for two months + while she undergoes the rigorous treatment.
