Hi everyone!

I’m excited to share that from February 28 to March 11, 2026, the Cascade Medical Team and I will be traveling to Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala with HELPS International, a nonprofit that provides free surgical, dental, and medical care to underserved communities. This will be my second medical volunteer trip to Guatemala, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to return and continue serving patients who otherwise would not have access to essential care.

Our surgical team will perform life-changing procedures including hysterectomies, gallbladder and hernia repairs, cleft lip and palate repairs, dental treatments, and cataract surgeries. I’ll be working as a nursing assistant in the post-operative ward, helping patients recover safely and comfortably after surgery. This work aligns closely with my long-term goal of becoming a doctor specializing in women’s and community health, and I’m eager to gain more hands-on experience while making a meaningful difference.

The total cost of the trip is $2,650, which covers airfare, travel insurance, most meals, ground transportation, hotels and on-site lodging, HELPS International support staff, plus lodging for three days of R&R in Antigua.

I’m incredibly grateful that my workplace, Women’s Care, has generously agreed to sponsor $1,000 toward my expenses. That leaves $1,650 I need to raise by January 25, 2026.
