Hi! My name is Cassie Hughes-Spears, and I am fundraising to help my baby brother, Blake. He was in a car accident on Monday, July 11, sustained a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and required emergency brain surgery. The brain injury caused two small strokes. Blake is progressing well, but it will be a long recovery. We do not know what cognitive or physical deficits may have resulted from the TBI. He has a very determined personality, which works well in his career as a fence installer. However, though he does have medical insurance through his job, he does not have anything that will cover any longtime disabilities, cognitive or physical.

Blake and his fiancee, Taylor, are also expecting a baby in January 2023.

This will be a significant change to their family and finances. We fear he will try to return to work earlier than he is truly ready because if Blake doesn't work, he doesn't get paid.

There is so much to think about when it comes to Blake's health, finances, and so much more. But, we don't know how best to cover everything until the situations come to light.
