He’s only 9 years old… and we were told he may only have “6–8 weeks left.”

Hi, my name is Jess, and on February 24th, Bailey’s 9th birthday, our world was turned completely upside down.

What should have been a day filled with celebration quickly turned into one of the most heartbreaking days of our lives. Instead of celebrating our beautiful boy, we were told that Bailey has Stage 3 B-cell lymphoma and, without treatment, may only have 6–8 weeks to live.

Hearing those words shattered our hearts.

Bailey is not just a dog to us, he is family. He has been by our side through everything and fills our lives with love, loyalty, and joy every single day. Anyone who has ever met Bailey knows how special he is. He has the gentlest nature, the sweetest personality, and a way of making people smile wherever he goes.

The thought of saying goodbye to him without even trying to fight for him is something we simply cannot accept.

After speaking with our trusted vet and a specialist oncologist, we made the decision to give Bailey a chance and start chemotherapy, known as the CHOP protocol. If successful, this treatment could give Bailey around 14 more precious months with us.

While we know this time is limited, every single extra day with Bailey means the world to us. We want to make sure that whatever time he has left is filled with love, comfort, and happiness.

Unfortunately, the financial reality of this treatment is overwhelming.

Because Bailey is such a big boy, his chemotherapy is expected to cost at least $20,000 for the first treatment alone. If he does not go into remission, or if the cancer returns, we may be faced with those costs again. This also does not include the additional expenses for medications, specialised diet, and lifestyle changes needed to support him through this disease.

As a family, we are doing everything we can. But despite our efforts, the reality is that this journey is emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming.

As difficult as it is to ask, we are reaching out for help out of pure love for Bailey and the desperate hope of giving him a fighting chance.
