Dear community members and friends,
My name is Armaghan Banedj Shafie, an iranian medical student from Germany and I am reaching out to ask you for your help in supporting a 29-year-old man, who has recently experienced a series of tragic events.
This young man, Aslam, moved to Dubai from Pakistan a couple of months ago and has been working as a delivery driver (Talabat) to support himself and his family in Pakistan, by sending most of his income back home.
Unfortunately, he had a skin injury on his foot which turned to be a bacterial infection that results in the death of parts of the body's soft tissue. Despite seeking medical attention, the infection spread and he underwent surgery to remove the infected tissue.
Sadly, the infection persisted and his extremities started to develop gangrene (localized death of the body tissue which turns black in color) and lead at the end to the amputation of all four of his limbs- partial and complete. The medical term for his condition is called Necrotising Fasciitis (NF).
As you can imagine, this young man is facing significant physical and emotional challenges. In addition to the physical pain and trauma he has endured, he is now without any income and in need of financial support to cover his medical bills, transportation back to Pakistan (due to the law it is not an option to stay in Dubai) and to get the possibility to get artificial limbs to start a new life at this point.
The case of Aslam turned to be something important and personal to me.
Due to my internship in Orthopedic & Trauma Surgery in Dubai I had the pleasure to be a part of his journey. It was always so fascinating to see still the positivity and hope in the eyes of a young adult, who's life changed radically from one second to the other.
The smiling face I saw everyday made me feel responsible to try to find a way to help him.
But for helping him, I need YOU! I need you, as a supporting and warm hearted community.
So I kindly ask you to donate and to spread this little project as much as possible. The amount is not of importance, it is about showing someone that humanity and love to others is still existing without any expectations. And every small amount would make a huge difference in Aslam's life during this difficult time. Wouldn't that be nice to make something possible together?
Just an additional information, Aslam is still in the hospital and I am in touch with the doctors of him. So the donations would reach him directly.
I just want to say Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.
In Love,
Arma(ghan)
