Hi, my name is Nikki. Up until 4 months ago I had no health problems, I had successfully addressed the pain in my knees with focused steady exercise, when fate decided to throw me a curved ball. All of the sudden and totally out of nowhere with no risk factors diabetes hit. I went in full blown attack and within 2 months my sugar levels had gone back to non diabetic with nutrition, exercise and a little help from metformin. What I didn’t know at the time was that this diabetes attack was only a symptom of a more sinister problem. You probably can guess. A CT scan was eventually done and found a mass on the head of my pancreas which a biopsy later identified as adenocarcinoma, one that is known to be pretty aggressive. So in August I spent 2 weeks in hospital while the doctors were figuring out the line of attack. They ran all possible tests under the sun before they did the CT scans and while my liver enzymes kept climbing together with my bilirubin. By the time i was transferred to St Vincent in Melbourne i had turned totally yellow. Surgeons had to have 2 goes at putting a metal stent in my bile duct. I then went back to Albury to start on the next treatment. I have now started chemotherapy treatment, 1 done and 5 more to go before more tests and scans. That treatment is absolutely gruelling, it’s every other week and for the most part I cannot get off the couch or stop feeling sick. Also very hard but I have to force myself to eat. My kids have been very helpful with cooking, cleaning and more but they cannot really help me put money in the bank. I was a wedding videographer barely starting to get traction when this hit and I’m only getting support from Centrelink which barely pays for rent. I have not been able to work for the past 4 months and my savings are at all time low. Anything you can do to help with $ wise will go towards food, petrol and bills. It’s very difficult to predict when I’ll be able to work again.

But please don’t feel sorry for me, I’m a fighter not a victim. All I need is a little bit of help and many positive vibes.

Update 1

Round 3 chemo completed and omg nothing could prepare you for the gruelling side effects. Last round it took a week for them to subside. Hoping for quicker this time. I will have a CT scan next week to check for any visible effect of chemo.

I’m also building up an artillery of cancer killing supplements including all that Joe Tippens used in his protocol with the addition of bitter apricot kernels, high dose melatonin and black seed oil. I’m also fasting for 3 days (from night before chemo) to try to starve this nasty piece of work further. Then back to intermittent fasting 16/8. I will keep posting updates as we go.
