Our daughter Arden-Marie is a bright, joyful, and fiercely determined girl who has filled our lives with pride. She’s not just our little champion—she’s a star on the sports field, a shining light in drama, and an academic achiever who has brought home medals and awards for her school. But one year ago, our world was shaken when she was diagnosed with idiopathic adolescent scoliosis. Despite our hopes and efforts to slow its progression, her spine has curved to a devastating 100 degrees, leaving her with only one option: life-changing surgery to protect her organs and her future.
Time is not on our side. With agonizing NHS and private hospital delays, we’ve made the difficult decision to take her to Shanghai for immediate treatment. While we’re grateful that our insurance covers most of the surgery, we’re facing overwhelming additional costs—flights, accommodation, a recovery brace, specialized equipment, physiotherapy, and an online tutor so she doesn’t fall behind in school. We also want to give her a phone to stay connected with her friends, whose support means everything during this scary and isolating time.
As parents, we’re doing all we can—taking unpaid leave, stretching every penny—but we can’t do this alone. Your kindness, no matter how small, will ease the financial burden and give Arden-Marie the comfort, care, and hope she needs to fight through this. Please, if you can, help us give our brave girl the chance to stand tall again, to return to the sports she loves, and to keep chasing her dreams without pain holding her back.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Arden-Marie in her toughest battle yet.
