Our dear friend Anne O’Riley’s life changed forever on February 15th, 2023 when she was diagnosed with kidney failure and congestive heart failure. That morning, she went to the walk-in clinic for what she thought was walking pneumonia, but was instead told that her kidneys were at 4% function. As far as the doctors can tell, the cause was a virus she contracted in 2006, called glomerulonephritis, that has continued to damage her kidneys ever since.

She has been in & out of the hospital & doing dialysis treatments multiple times per week, all while continuing to support her family and her community. Anne & her husband Mike have three daughters, two of which are in college, and one a senior in high school. As a REALTOR® at Greenridge Realty in Caledonia, MI, she is not only dedicated to helping people find a place to call home, but also supporting Greenridge’s Make-A-Wish Foundation & other local charities. She has always been involved in the local community, giving to those who need help & volunteering during her spare time.

After many delays, Anne was recently approved for a donor kidney & her heart is shown to be back to normal function. The average wait time for a donor kidney from a cadaver is 5-7 years, for which she will have to continue dialysis & taking medications.

As you can imagine, there have been many emotions, trials, and tribulations along this journey for Anne and her family. There have also been extensive medical expenses beyond what insurance will cover. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of her medical bills, while she continues dialysis and waits for a kidney.
