Hello, it's me, Anna. Since August 2021 I have had some serious post-viral conditions after getting a mild case of COVID. You could say I am a COVID long-hauler, but at this point it could be more accurate to say I have ME/CFS - a very serious illness that keeps me bedridden all of the time, except when I have my two-year-old daughter, Harriet. Harriet's father and I are equally co-parenting. I also have an illness called POTS and another called MCAS.
These illnesses have prevented me from being able to work. I hope that with a couple month's more rest, I can apply for a fully remote, part-time, choose-your-own-hours job. That is honestly all I want in the world - to be well enough to earn a living. Intense resting for eight weeks has worked for me before, so I have hope that it will again - and I'm a little wiser now in the process of figuring out my strict limits. I am also now applying for Social Security Disability Income, although I hope I don't end up needing it, and that typically takes a couple of years or more from start to finish for people with ME/CFS.
My spousal support ends next month, and while I will still receive child support for Harriet, it will be one-third of what I have been receiving for the past year. It's not enough to both pay rent and afford living expenses.
That's why I'm asking for your help. With a little assistance, I could afford two more months of rent at my current (temporary) home, and first and last month's rent at my future home - which will again be a rented room in a house with roommates, but hopefully in Rocklin or Roseville instead of way out in Placerville.
I don't have any other means of assistance available to me, so I'm swallowing my pride and accepting that this is simply my reality now. Please consider helping me survive a few more months as I aggressively rest to gather strength. I need to do this if I hope to become self-sufficient.
Thank you all so much for your consideration. Please feel free to get in touch with me via social media, I'd love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Anna
