Hello! My name is Andrew Gurza and I am a Disability Awareness Consultant and author. Sometimes, I get the opportunity to travel for the work I do. When I travel I have to rent a Hoyer lift, which is a big lift I need to get in and out of bed. This is one of the most stressful parts of travelling, because often times they are difficult to source, and sometimes they don't work. Recently, I travelled for work and the Hoyer lift that we rented did not work at all. This meant that my caregiver had to lift me with the help of 3 other people. They were lovely folks, but they did not know how to lift. These kinds of hands on lifts can be incredibly dangerous and put everyone at risk. As a result of this, I need to fund raise for a lift of my own that I can travel, that can fold up and easily be taken on a plane, with so that I don't have to worry about my safety or the safety of my caregivers.

I also need to fund raise for a new shower chair. The current one I have is broken, and has been serviced multiple times, and it isn't fixed. My shower chair is specialized with a tilt and recline function, and the tilt function keeps breaking, meaning that I could be showering and the tilt keeps tilting all by itself. This is unsafe for myself and the attendants who help me.

All of these funds will be used to help a severely disabled person (me!) safely travel and shower, and any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
