Nazir and pregnant Samra arrived in May 2022 with three suitcases, daughters Zalo (5) and Salwa (7), and abundant hope for a better life in America. Since then Samra gave birth to baby Sadiya, Nazir found a permanent job, Zalo and Salwa enrolled in kindergarten and 2nd grade, and many generous friends have donated furniture, books, toys, two cars, legal services, and financial support.

We now seek help to conquer their final challenge: to find affordable housing in pricey Monterey, CA. Will you help?
