Hi All, this GoFundMe is set up for our dearest Amritpal Kaur. Amrit is a 24 year old student from India residing in Prince George, Canada. She came here for a better life for herself and her family back home.

 

Unfortunately, Amrit was hit by a van whilst crossing a pedestrian walk at 6.30am on 6th April 2022. She was unconscious and categorised medically as “very critical” therefore airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital. Drs have now discovered she has been in a coma since the time of impact. She has suffered very severe brain injury alongside a suspected stroke. Last night Amrit was taken in for a life threatening surgery as this was the best option to reduce the pressure in her brain. Both of Amrits lungs have collapsed. She also has a tear in her liver, broken ribs on both sides, broken collar bones and also a pelvis fracture. Drs are unable to do surgery on her pelvis due to the extent of her severe brain injury.

 

Amrit is unresponsive to any external stimulus. She is still in a coma and all we can do is hope and pray for her. Drs have informed us she is in a worse condition than they had initially thought, therefore if she improves her recovery will takes minimum months if not years - with no promise that she will live a normal life. She is surrounded by an excellent team with trauma surgeons and neurosurgeons working closely together to find the best possible outcome.

 

Amrits husband resides in Punjab, India. We are in contact with lawyers in canada and the Canadian embassy to expedite him to Canada to be with her. It is unknown how long Amrit will remain in this awful condition. If Amrit wakes up, she will be in need of long term medical support. All funds collected will go towards supporting Amrits medical care and all the costs associated with this. Please consider helping our incredible Amrit in her time of need.
