As many of you already know, my father lost his fight with cancer on 9/20/2023. We have personally been helping my mother with the many medical expenses (besides treatment costs) that were associated with dad's illness as much as we can, but we are limited what we can do ourselves.
This fundraiser is being published with the hope that my mother will receive aid for paying off the medical expenses that total over $80,000. Around $50,000 was the total for dad's surgery in Pittsburgh in June to remove the cancerous mass that the doctors initially found.
After 5 weeks of cancer treatments in Arizona (post-surgery), dad seemed to be doing well until suddenly his Calcium levels seemed to get out of control. After being admitted to the local hospital in Pheonix, it was discovered another large mass was present and attached to his colon, stomach, kidney, and pancreas. He was too weak for another surgery and did not desire chemotherapy. The only choice left which he fully supported was to fly home on a medical charter jet from AZ to PA, costing another $31,800.
Unfortunately, dad passed away only 8 days later at home, surrounded by his wife, family, and loved ones.
