Hello Loves,

My name is Alissa ~ I am an herbalist, mother, women's work facilitator & community healer. I grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains and am fighting hard to keep this special place as my home

In 2016 I founded ~ Akasha Apothecary ~ A retail & online apothecary that makes ceremonial grade herbal remedies. We focus on bioregional herbalism and women’s health. Over the years we have heard countless stories of how these remedies have supported their healing process.

Post-Partum Healing, Emotional Support, and Epilepsy Support

“I am so grateful to Alissa for creating the Full Moon Salve. I discovered this salve in 2019 during my 3rd postpartum healing phase in this life. It was a time of physical, mental, and emotional trauma for a laundry list of reasons, and if we were to reflect upon Maslow’s Heirarchy of needs, my body was deeply desiring care and attention through my struggles. I was referred by my yoga teacher trainer to try out the Full Moon Healing Salve and gave it a shot, buying a tiny jar. When it came in and I gave my womb the first application, I quickly felt the intentional healing properties of the beautiful plant medicines in the jar. My shoulders and jaw relaxed and my womb felt ease through a phase of discomfort. My nervous system felt the opportunity for rest that the salve offered, allowing the healing in my body to really take effect. Fast forward to 4 years later and I am purchasing 8oz jars not only to support my body’s desire for rest, but to support my beautiful 3-year-old girl through her epilepsy journey. Taking her off of the ineffective Rx medications and allowing her body to receive rest and comfort through blocking the LPI’s ability to interfere with feedback looping nerve signals in the brain was all made possible by the Full Moon Healing Salve that I had on hand from Akasha Apothecary. Witnessing the effects first hand, I know I will be leaning to this medicine to help my youngest child to remain safe through an unpredictable and unique medical condition. I am eternally grateful. “ XO Kat

In 2019 - I received my Women’s Work Facilitator Certification and began to host women’s healing circles in the Santa Cruz Mountains

In 2020 I founded ~ The Renegade Apothecary Project ~ A community apothecary that makes herbal medicines for individuals who are most in need. We provide free herbal medicines, herbal clinic support & disaster relief

During the CZU fires the project stationed out of the MAH museum and we organized donations from all across the US, teams of volunteers, herbalists and distribution of the wellness boxes to the community.
We also make donations to other disaster relief clinics, first responders, mutual aid initiatives, and local non profits. We were able to serve hundreds of families, first responders, and community members with much needed wellness remedies ( lung support teas, tinctures, body oils, sprays, hand sanitizers, diapers, wipes, and so much more )

This work fills my heart and needs community support to keep it going and growing and these projects requires a lot of resources
( time, raw materials, packaging )

To be of service and to care for others in this way I also need to care for myself by way of safe and stable housing & reliable transportation

I work as a caregiver & 1:1 aid to children with unique needs

I am currently in school to become a full spectrum doula and having reliable transportation is imperative to do this work as well

Over the last 4 years I have experienced housing insecurity and have faced homelessness a number of times
( having to live in my car ) it has been challenging to say the least to gain traction & stability

I have since lost my car due to financial instability and was unable to fix the repairs and maintenance that were required

I know I am capable of doing great things and am devoted to being in service to community.

I am humbly asking for help in a time of great and dire need as I am facing homelessness in a rural community without a safe or reliable vehicle

These resources will allow me to move into safe and stable housing in the Santa Cruz Mountains by July 1st and allow me to put resources towards reliable transportation, an apothecary, and home goods
