It is with our deepest sorrow to inform everyone that my grandfather Alfredo Morales Torres has passed away on May 01, 2022. Unfortunately, he couldn’t not overcome his illness. The money that is being raised will be used to pay outstanding medical and funeral expenses. Thank you again for all your support and prayers for my grandfather and my family during this difficult time.

La Familia Morales les da las mas sinceras gracias a todos los que donaron para los gastos medicos de mi abuelo el Sr. Alfredo Morales Torres Q.E.P.D. Las donaciones recaudadas serán utilizadas para gastos funerarios ya que el ha fallecido el día 1 de Mayo del 2022. Desafortunadamente no pudo recuperarse ya que la enfermedad que el tenia había avanzado demasiado y estaba causando mas problemas en su cerebro. Muchísimas gracias nuevamente por su generoso apoyo y oraciones por mi abuelo y la familia Morales durante estos momentos difíciles. Dios los bendiga.

There is also a Spanish version ⬇️: My name is Fernando Morales. Unfortunately, my grandfather Alfredo Morales obtained the Covid-19 virus on February 19. He had received both Covid-19 shots and booster shots, and even though his symptoms were minor, he began to have lingering symptoms after a week of recovering. He was isolated in his room under quarantine, and we didn’t realize how these symptoms were progressing until he had an accident and fell in the shower. He started to show loss of balance, blurred vision, headaches, and memory loss. These symptoms affected his consciousness and mobility functions, restraining him from walking, eating, and doing daily tasks. It hurts our family to see him like this since he loves being outdoors working to cultivate his crops in Puebla, Mexico.

After noticing these symptoms, my grandfather was taken to the hospital in his hometown right away, but due to still testing positive, the local hospitals would not admit him. So he stayed home under the care of my grandmother even though his health was declining day after day. We took him to various specialist and after a CT scan, he was diagnosed with encephalitis and hydrocephalus - a build up in the cavities deep within the brain causing brain damage. He was admitted to a hospital where he is under the care of great doctors.

My grandmother and my family seek monetary aid to help pay for the medical expenses and his continued hospital stay in General Hospital of Izucar de Matamoros in Puebla, Mexico. He has no date of release due to a slow recovery and swelling of his brain. With faith in God and all the caring professionals who have been by his side, we know we will have him home.

On behalf of the entire Morales family, I truly appreciate the amount of love, support, and prayers over the past week and in the weeks to come.

Mi nombre es Fernando Morales. Desafortunadamente, mi abuelo Alfredo Morales se contagió del virus Covid-19 el 19 de febrero. Había recibido vacunas contra el Covid-19 y una vacuna de refuerzo y, aunque sus síntomas eran leves, después de una semana de recuperación comenzó a tener síntomas persistentes. Estaba aislado en su habitación en cuarentena y no nos dimos cuenta de cómo iban estos síntomas hasta que tuvo un accidente y se cayó en la ducha. Comenzó a mostrar pérdida del equilibrio, visión borrosa, dolores de cabeza y pérdida de memoria. Estos síntomas comenzaron a afectar su conciencia y funciones de movilidad, impidiéndole caminar, comer y realizar tareas cotidianas. A nuestra familia le duele verlo así ya que le encanta estar al aire libre trabajando en el campos de sus cultivos en Puebla, México.

Después de notar estos síntomas, de inmediato mi abuelo fue llevado al hospital de su ciudad natal, pero debido a que todavía dio positivo, los hospitales locales no lo admitieron. Se quedó en casa al cuidado de mi abuela a pesar de que su salud empeoraba día tras día. Lo llevamos a varios especialistas y, después de una tomografía computarizada, le diagnosticaron encefalitis e hidrocefalia, una acumulación en las cavidades profundas del cerebro que causa daño cerebral. Fue ingresado en un hospital donde está bajo el cuidado de grandes médicos.

Mi abuela y mi familia buscan ayuda monetaria para ayudar a pagar los gastos médicos y su estadía hospitalaria continua en el Hospital General de Izucar de Matamoros en Puebla, México. No tiene fecha de salida debido a la lenta recuperación y la inflamación de su cerebro. Con fe en Dios y en todos los profesionales solidarios que han estado a su lado, sabemos que lo tendremos en casa.
