Please help my best friend and her family during this very hard and trying time.

Yasmeen often wears a beautiful smile and you would never know the true struggles her and her family are currently facing right now.
Her husband developed shortness of breath a little over a month ago and life for this family hasn’t been the same since.
Alex is very weak and has a hard time performing daily tasks let alone just walking without being winded.
He has undergone weekly thoracentesis taps for fluid that was found in his lung along with a mass. He usually has anywhere from 2-3L of fluid removed weekly in interventional radiology, he recently had a biopsy, a pet scan, and continues to have more and more tests. His most recent tap ended him in the ER due to tachycardia and desaturations requiring oxygen. The Nurse Practitioner that did his fluid tap 2 weeks ago was a true Angel as the Young’s state, as they’ve been waiting for someone to help them expedite care for some answers. Yasmeen’s husband Alex was admitted to the hospital after this tap and had a surgical biopsy where Alex was intubated and re-intubated shortly after surgery and transferred to the cardiac thoracic ICU for 2-3 days due to complications from surgery. He had to have another chest tube inserted as well. Alex is still hospitalized and awaiting a few more test results. His most recent tests consisted of a lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy. The results on the surgical biopsy did come back as Lymphoblastic Lymphoma which is a very rare type of cancer in adults with less than 1%. Currently they are awaitng genetic testing to see what treatment looks like. He will then be transferred to the oncology floor. The Young’s are hoping to get to a cancer center that specializes in this type of cancer for adults to have the best possible outcome. Most likely, insurance will only cover a portion of care if they do in fact transfer to the best center possible to help Alex in his fight.
They’ve spent many sleepless nights of worries, increased shortness of breath, and time wondering what the future holds. They are expecting a newborn in just 2 weeks and currently have an 18 month at home. To make matters worse Yasmeen did not meet the 1250 hours required to qualify for FMLA to take care of her newborn or her husband. Which means she will be expected to return to work just 6-8 weeks after having her baby. The stress that is weighing on this family is so heartbreaking. If there is any amount of donation you wish to help contribute it would be greatly appreciated.
