Donate to help Alex and his family

Hi, we are friends of Simon, Jas, Alex and Miles, and are raising money to help them support Alex as best they can through this incredibly challenging time.

Young Alex, who is 6 and older brother to 3 year old Miles, had started school this year with the hopes, expectations and excitement that all young children have at this big milestone. Unfortunately a little over 2 months ago Alex started experiencing some gradual weakness and lethargy and was diagnosed not too long after with an aggressive brain tumour (Diffuse Glioma).

This has been a devastating diagnosis for the family who are doing the best, with the support of their doctors, to find something to give Alex as much chance and time as possible. So far Alex, who’s motor function has been affected, has been through radiotherapy and is looking at some novel chemotherapy regimes. Unfortunately in the last 24 hours at the time of the final setup of this page, Alex is back in ICU.

Jas and Simon are doing their best to do what they can whilst preparing beautiful Alex, and little Miles, for what may lay ahead.

We are hoping that we may be able to help a little to support the family in looking at all options for Alex’s treatment and giving him, and them, the most peaceful and meaningful time as possible.

Jas and Simon are incredibly appreciative but also super mindful of the uphill battle they and other families have with this rare but aggressive tumour. They are planning to use any donated funds that are not needed to support Alex’s care, to give to Australian researchers trying to cure this tumour via the charity RUN-DIPG.

Your support is really appreciated. We will try and reach out to as many contacts as possible but please share with your friend groups - especially those who may have had contact with Jas, Simon, Alex and Miles over the years.
