Donate To Help Al "Piper" Green Kick Cancer's Ass

The expression, "paying your dues," is a common one but none more so than in the music industry. After 20+ years, the Nashville-based band, Piper & The Hard Times, began exploding on the blues-roots international scene in January 2024 after winning the International Blues Challenge. Fronting the band is Al "Piper" Green, along with his OG musical brothers Steve Eagon and Dave Colella. Piper's voice, charisma, stage presence, smile, and HUGE heart have always endeared him to his bandmates, friends, and fans. When their critically acclaimed debut album was released in August 2024, the world soon discovered his unique charm and huge talent! Awards and recognition quickly followed along with a booking and management partnership. Piper's dream had always been to make a career in music for himself and his beautiful wife, Amy. He and his band had been shot out of a cannon and were well on their way to making this world a reality!

On June 4, 2025, Piper's world turned upside down. Feeling ill for several months yet still performing, he received a medical diagnosis we all fear - cancer. Piper's cancer is advanced, and he now has to fight the battle of his life. The band had just finished recording their second album and begun planning its release, won a Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist, and had festivals and tour dates lined up. The music gods have spoken and for some reason they said, "It's time to pay more dues." Cancer freaking sucks.

By now we all know someone in our friends and family circle who has battled cancer, and we're aware of the devastating toll it takes physically, psychologically, and of course financially. As happens with most professional musicians, health insurance is difficult to afford and challenging to navigate. Piper and Amy have the most basic health coverage. Piper and his wife, Amy, own a 20-acre farm and it's their life outside of music. The amount of money they will need to pay the massive medical bills and keep their home in order to take the financial stress off their mind will allow them to focus on his treatment and recovery.
