Donate to help a struggling Grandmother raise her Grandkids

Hello. My name is Chelsey Taylor, and I am raising funds to help my neighbor, Dena Snelgrove.

Dena moved into my neighborhood in late 2023 with her two granddaughters after the loss of her daughter, Erica. Dena took her two young granddaughters in to raise them after they lost their mom and struggles to help them through their grief while also grieving the loss herself.
Dena also suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), which is a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves. It can cause weakness, numbness, or paralysis.
This has caused Dena to retire way early in her life and live off of disability, while also having to live with limited mobility. She has fought hard to try and have movement through physical therapy and has come a long way, but it's still causing her to be limited to walking long distances, playing with her grandkids, and overall keeping her from enjoying life.

Dena has always been such a good friend and neighbor since we've met, and she has offered me help so many times in my time of need and always lends an ear if you need to talk. She's always there for you.

But recently, Dena has received some news that is about to shatter her and her granddaughters' world.
Dena always filed her taxes when she was supposed to. Or so she thought.
Dena had a mistake on her taxes from almost a decade ago that was not caught by the tax preparer she had hired, who are no longer available, and now, she owes almost $1,900.
She now has 14 days to pay the IRS back, or they will start to garnish all of her assets. She currently rents and uses her disability check to do so, as well as pay her bills. She also has her late daughter's vehicle and is facing losing it as well, which would be devastating not just for Dena, but her granddaughters as well, as the vehicle belonged to their late mom.

Dena does right by her granddaughters, and it's unfair for her to have to shoulder the burden of not having money to take care of her granddaughters and herself.

I'm raising funds to help her pay her debt off. Not just the IRS debt, but also to give her a little bit during this hard time, to give her some peace of mind.

Dena's story is one of heartbreak and sorrow, but also that of resilience and strength. She deserves so much more than what she's been dealt.

If any of you know Dena, you'll know that she's an amazing person with a lot to shoulder. I want to take that weight off of her, even if it's just a little.

Anything you can spare to help her would be great and very much appreciated!
Thank you so much for your consideration.
