As most of you know, September 23rd 2024 little Alex made his eventful entrance to the world. Taylor experienced a severe postpartum hemorrhage and was airlifted to TBRHSC along with Alex, who spent an extended period of time in the NICU for additional support. This time was extremely mentally and physically difficult for Taylor and Tristan as Taylor had just fought for her life all while navigating being a new mother.

To spare some details, the following months have consisted of numerous hospital stays for both Taylor and Alex in Dryden and Thunder Bay. Tristan was luckily able to be off work during this time however this came with financial strain as they have been juggling travel expenses, meals while out of town and trying to keep on top of costs while both Taylor and Tristan are off work.

Unfortunately their story doesn’t end here. Since Alex’s 2 month appointment, he has been gaining minimal weight and feeds have not increased. They have spent the last 2 weeks at the TBRHSC with no answers and are now being transferred to London for as long as it takes to get to the bottom on Alex’s health issues.

There are no words I can put together to describe what this family has been through in the last 4 months. Taylor and Tristan deserve to enjoy their time being new parents but have unfortunately been spending most of their time battling health issues and doing their best to keep on top of bills. They are the last to ask for help but are in need of support to get through these trying times.
