“I’m a lady who’s used to helping our neighbors that are living on the street, tent encampments, hotels, in cars, woods, and even overpasses. It’s a privilege to meet people where they are in life. No one should have to choose to go to bed hungry in order to keep a roof over their heads but the reality is that they do. Well now I find myself in need and I feel so vulnerable. I’m needing to travel to get some treatment going. While I’m there I need to sustain the cost of caregivers, gas, food, and a couple of copays for prescriptions. I never thought I would be in this predicament, but here I am. If anyone finds it in their heart to assist me, I truly appreciate it.”
