This fundraiser is for a Music and Arts Academy located in the city of Quillabamba, in Cusco, Peru, founded in 2018 by Jennifer and Darcy, a lovely couple with 3 children.

Actually they are contributing to help a lot of little souls that come to learn and improve their talents through different workshops and activities related to arts, music, dancing and languages.

As in this area of Cusco it’s very common to find different kids and teenagers moving away from their small villages seeking for new learning opportunities, they find a lot of them without parents under different organization’s responsibility. They try to receive as much of them as they can to give them the chance to evolve and to gain new skills while also feeling part of a space that loves and cares about them.

As an academy they try to be a big family and they are looking forward to expanding their possibilities. They are totally committed to the cause and with a lot of energy to continue growing, for giving more kids and teenagers the chance to improve themselves by learning important skills that they believe it will help them to become good professionals.

However three years ago Jennifer’s husband passed away due to Covid, changing a lot of things for the organization. Her sons are growing up and they try to help her when they are in town as they are starting their university studies in Cusco's capital city located 5 hours away from Quillabamba.

Fortunately, during the last years she had been receiving volunteers from different parts of the world that have lent an important hand to the project, allowing the organization to raise the strength to continue no matter the circumstances. Making excellent contributions to the structure and the learning processes, and inspiring a lot of students by lighting in them the will of learning and getting better and by giving their personal example!

Nowadays for Jennifer it’s being very hard to raise the money to cover the rent of the property where the organization is established, which also functions as her home and as the home of the volunteers.

This fundraiser is for covering the costs of the place which is very expensive. Actually she is paying for the property $800USD monthly (3000 Soles), making per year a total cost of $9.600USD. The property has 3 floors with big spaces that allow to provide the right space for the activities and to receive many kids as possible. It’s being very hard to reach all the money and even when it’s possible is with a lot of effort, leaving no space for growing in other aspects of the organization.

The option of moving to another place it’s being considered but we are trying by doing this to keep the space because in this area the options are limited. We believe that with a lot of help we will be able to make this possible!

This call is for all the generous people who had been helping in different ways to make it possible to carry on with the project and for their friends and families willing to collaborate. We believe that by reaching the right donors we will be able to raise the money to cover one year of rent and by doing this creating more space to care about important matters related to the organization.

We wish we can reach other organizations that can support and work with them to give the project the expansion it deserves, considering the huge quantity of kids that live in Quillabamba city and those that come from different surrounding villages with their hope and dreams! Taking seriously the potential Cusco has as a very important center of the world for its wonderful nature, history and idiosyncrasy. Understanding how behind they are in terms of specific education but how good they are in human matter and nature caring, and focusing on the impact it will have to make them share their skills to the world in a global way as many talented people do! Considering how nowadays we are caring the planet and why a lot of action must be done to preserve and protect our world.

We believe that with the right supporters we will be able to expand this potential by giving them the right formation to become great professionals to help the planet to become a better space for everyone. We transmit this to them and we empower them, giving them the confidence that they deserve to be able to make the difference to improve our planet.
