4 year old Camryn, has a liver disease called Alagille Syndrome. 10% of children who have this condition need a liver transplant and Camryn is one of them.

Only one of Camryn’s family members are a match and that turned out to be her Uncle Rich. Rich has been isolating the past couple of weeks, and will check into the hospital on Monday in Philadelphia to begin pre-op testing. The transplant will take place on Wednesday. Camryn is expected to have a recovery period of a couple of weeks. Recovery for the donor is much longer, which means that Rich will be home for a few months recuperating, and unable to work.

Rich’s wife, Allison, is a job coach serving adults with autism at Quest Autism Program in Midland Park, NJ.
