Donate to help a family with medical expenses

Hi, my name is Amy and I am fundraising for my dearest friend of 25+ years, Amanda. Amanda is a 46-year-old married mother of 4th grade, twin girls, Lila and Sophie - age 9.

Amanda was recently diagnosed with stage three, inoperable colon cancer. Unfortunately, Amanda will be undergoing a year of multimodality therapy, a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.

As long as I've known Amanda she has been passionate about Spanish and is currently, the Spanish teacher at the high school we both attended in Woodstock, Connecticut.

Sadly, the intensive treatment she will endure will render her too ill to work and therefore unable to help financially support her family.

In addition to helping pay for living expenses, childcare expenses, and medical expenses, there will now be travel expenses to specialists around the northeastern US.

Amanda is young and this has been devastating to all of us who know her and love her. Please consider helping this young family. My goal in setting up this page is to help her have one less burden as they travel down this road of unknowns.
