Hi! My name is Naia and this is Bug. He is my special 1 year old kitten who suddenly fell into life threatening pain. The vets have no idea what is wrong and he has stopped eating, drinking, and using the restroom. He is currently under empiric medical management to see if he can get better without costly testing. They believe it could be a neurological issue, but I can’t afford to get him tested. I am asking for donations if you have the means to help me and Bug manage his pain and hopefully fully recover. Or at least give him a comfier end to his short life The money will go toward vet bills, medication, specialist appointments, and items to make him feel comfier (a crate and a bed). Thank you for considering a donation!
My baby Bug is a very active hungry and playful young cat, so when he suddenly was not any of those things, I knew something was wrong. The vets have run all the standard tests (blood, urine, thyroid) and have performed X rays on his body, with only “unremarkable” results. They suggested it might a neurological issue, but to do all the tests to just even try to figure out what was wrong was going to cost more more that $10,000 USD. I had already paid $1,650 for the ER trip and absolutely couldn’t not afford debt that high so I begged for a cheaper solution or potentially put him down. The doctors let me know we could do Empiric Medical Management (basically, throwing drugs at him to see what sticks and hopefully he will recover from it) for $850. I decided to go with it, even though I really can’t afford it because I know my Buggy deserves a fighting chance, and the only other option was euthanasia .
I am looking to raise $3,200 to help cover the medical expenses I already paid, and to help me cover the cost of my follow up appointment next week with the neurologist. The money will also go towards future medications in the case that he begins to recover, and also towards the cost of the expensive crate I had to buy in order to have a little Kitty ICU in my apartment. (And GoFundMe fees)
Thank you for taking the time to hear Bug’s story. I’m so heartbroken that all of this is happening, but I am glad I’m going forward and trying to get the money to give him a chance at a long life. The vets said he wouldn’t have lasted a couple more days without doing the drug treatments, so thank you for allowing me to spend more time with my precious cat.
