Donate to Heal a Wounded Red-Shouldered Hawk
Donation protected
Walking my dogs, I ran across this Red-Shouldered Hawk perched on a chair at my neighbor's. You could tell his wing was not right. I contacted the World Bird Sanctuary out past Valley Park. They told me how to secure the bird and place him in a pet carrier. I took him there, and they gave me a case number so I could check on progress. The notes said that he had been shot! His upper bone on his wing was broken, and he suffered some tissue damage. It made me sad that someone in our neighborhood would shoot this beautiful bird. They performed surgery and repaired the wing, and his prognosis is very guarded. They listed the procedures and expenses, and right now it looks like about $1,300. We initially donated $150 but would appreciate some help.
