Our incredible friend Hallie has recently been diagnosed with triple negative stage 3 breast cancer. At 33 years old and only 2 months married, this was the last thing Hallie and her new husband, Alec, expected. 

Her treatment plan is expected to span about a year. She has begun chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, which will be followed by a double mastectomy, radiation, and reconstruction. 

Before starting treatment, Hallie and Alec went through fertility preservation so they can have the chance to grow their family in the future — but fertility treatment isn’t covered by Hallie’s insurance, costing $12,000 out-of-pocket. 

As an infant and early childhood mental health therapist Hallie has dedicated her career to supporting children and families. It has always been Hallie’s dream to start a family of her own. Hallie’s husband, Alec, also works in non-profits as an employment consultant to young adults with disabilities. Together, they hope to build their family and future.
