My name is Haley Batesole. Some may know me. For those of you that don’t, I first and foremost am a woman of faith, a leader, a hard worker, a doctor's assistant at an eye doctor, very independent, and my favorite blessing in life: I am a full-time single mother of 3 beautiful, loving, smart young ladies!

My oldest two girls just graduated in May 2025. Same day of my last, making it my 3rd lumbar puncture (spinal tap) May 23rd, also the same day I was released from being admitted to the hospital over this condition.

My youngest daughter is going into 10th grade this year! All 3 are thriving considering all that’s being thrown at us!

This has affected all 4 of us these last few months for sure emotionally, me physically, and now financially with all the unexpected uncertainties this has brought to our life!

Continuously being taken off of work for long periods of time with no pay due to repeated uncontrollable “flare-ups” which make it impossible to work, physically debilitating, vision changes, imbalance, unbearable head and neck pain, in and out of doctor's appointments, MRIs, spinal taps, medications that are no longer working for treatment, infusions, unexpected admissions to the hospital, back and forth trips to Cleveland Clinic, multiple procedures and testing, back and forth trips to Dayton to see the neurosurgeon, canceled plans…

I was diagnosed on September 8, 2022, with a rare unknown to the cause silent chronic disease. They call it Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, also known as (Pseudo-Tumor Cerebri).

(Standing in faith for healing also moving with wisdom).

IIH-IT OCCURS WHEN THE PRESSURE INSIDE YOUR SKULL INCREASES FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON. SYMPTOMS MIMIC THOSE OF A BRAIN TUMOR.

BUT NO TUMOR IS PRESENT

IIH itself is vision-threatening. In many cases, if you don’t keep the spinal fluid pressure down in your skull, people can, do, and have gone blind!

IIH is not life-threatening, but the things that come with it can be, some of which I am currently dealing with:

• Bilateral narrowing (compressed) of the transverse sinus vein causing transverse sinus stenosis (TSS), which is the vein in the back of my head that pumps the blood out of the brain to the heart and body.

• Shunt placement in the brain

- I go back on September 8th to meet with the neurosurgeon in Dayton to set up a date for Surgery

-Recently also diagnosed with Chiari Malformation

I am currently under the care of a team of:

Neurology headache

Optho-neurology

Neuro-interventionist for the veins in my brain

Neurosurgeon-Shunt and Chiari Doctor

The last two have just recently been added.

Due to the severity of the symptoms, I have been hospitalized and admitted twice now since May. Which leads me to making this GoFundMe.

Again, being single mother typically living paycheck to paycheck. So when they take me off of work, I have no pay. From having to miss work over these conditions that’s hit you out of nowhere it has been a struggle to say the least.

I cannot fathom the thought of losing anything I have worked so hard to build over some nasty medical conditions that already tries to steal my joy and peace daily, causing me to feel a little hopeless on the days I get tired of fighting. Yes, I have faith! Yes, I believe! Yes, I am human, and some days can get the best of me.

Especially when I just get caught up on my bills from being off of work for a month from May into June. Then BAM, now taking me off again from August to unknown date to return:(

My flare-ups are closer and closer together and medication has been unsuccessful.

I am scared/nervous. Obviously, being a mother, I have so many questions and uncertainties running through my mind.

But I am waking up every single day choosing to trust God! Just like EVERYTHING else in my life, He has never failed me yet!!! He is my healer, my provider, and my comforter! So I will continue to do the only thing I know how and just keep praying, seeking Him, and trusting that the battle is already won!

The funds will be used for bills, gas and to put food on the table for my family!
