Donate to fund student efforts in producing An American Werewolf in London: The Monster Play!

Students are preparing a show, free of admission! However, the cost of costumes, props, set pieces, and construction will deplete our budget for future shows. Typically, each show we produce funds the next one. Without the charge of admission, the program will need help to fund the cost of future productions. Any donation you are able to give, we are truly grateful.

HISTORY

In 2019 we brought Brian Sipe in for an industry chat and skill demonstration. Mr. Sipe is an award-winning makeup artist and practical effects designer who has credits on films and series such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, and The Mandalorian. After the demo, we got to discussing a New Jersey High School that had adapted Aliens to a stage play and garnered national attention. We talked about how neat it would be to allow students to creatively work on a project like that and learn career skills for both the stage and screen. He then mentioned that in his youth he wrote a letter to John Landis asking to adapt AWL to the stage. Landis had written back “yes”. He asked if we wanted to use his letter. I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to create a project that allows the students to collaborate with an industry professional. I immediately worked to adapt the screenplay into age-appropriate material without omitting the key factors in a work like this—Zombies, Werewolves, dry comedy, fake werewolf attacks, campy gore, and fake blood. This adaptation is an homage to the spirit of the original work, the director's other works, and the 80s in general.
