Hi Family! As most of you know, Gus has been our foster dog for the past year. We found him as a stray in Brooklyn outside of one of our neighborhood bodegas in November 2023. He was completely emaciated, weighing less than 35 lbs, and covered in dirt and blood and sores. Despite all that Gus had been through, he was so friendly and was just looking for someone to love him.

We took Gus in, and he began the long journey of recovery in our home where he’s been since.

Over the last year and a half, Gus got his first bath, learned how to sit and stay and play fetch, and become the ultimate cuddle companion. We learned with him and got to know his sweet and goofy personality. Gus loves going on long walks. He is also an Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo stan, loves Drag Race, women’s sports, and his giant squeaky ball.

Gus is a great dog, but since he did not get the training he needed as a puppy, he requires some more dedicated training now. Unfortunately, given how hectic our lives and work have become, we’re no longer able to foster Gus and give him the life and skills he deserves.

Most of you have already been following along with Gus’s journey and have been so supportive of us on the way. With these donations, Gus will be able to go to a board and train program and get the training he needs to become the best home companion for his forever family. The funds raised will also ensure that he is placed in an environment where he can truly thrive, be the best version of himself, and find the forever home and love he deserves.
