Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, seeking support for my dear son, Greg. For the past six years, Greg has been battling chronic diabetes, a relentless disease that has led to a host of other severe medical complications. His body is fighting multiple conditions, including gastric paresis, ketoacidosis, edema, anasarca, neuropathy, and most distressingly, kidney failure.

These conditions have taken an overwhelming toll on Greg’s health and his spirit. His doctors have informed us that he will likely need to begin dialysis within the next 3 to 6 months, and they are preparing to place him on a kidney transplant waiting list. The very thought of what lies ahead for him is heartbreaking.

Greg’s health challenges have not only affected his physical well-being but also his ability to work and support himself. For the past eight months, he has been unable to hold down a job, as his illness has forced him in and out of hospitals repeatedly. Even before this, he struggled to maintain employment due to his frequent hospitalizations. As a result, our family has been facing immense financial strain, and while we have applied for disability benefits, we have been informed that the process could take up to 18 months.

As a mother, I have always believed in helping others in their time of need, and I have done so whenever I could. Today, I find myself in the humbling position of asking for help for my son. Greg is a kind, loving, and resilient individual who has always tried to push through the pain and uncertainty that his illness has brought into his life. But now, he needs our collective support more than ever.
