Holy Apostles Orthodox Church is raising money to help support Reader Gregg Hayda in his cancer treatments.

Over the past few months, Gregg has had increased difficulty swallowing, which impacted his ability to eat. He was losing weight and only able to drink smoothies and eat very soft foods. Last week, his doctors found a mass that was severely constricting his esophagus. Further tests confirmed Stage 1 esophageal cancer. His doctors are optimistic due to the earliness of this diagnosis and believe that 6 rounds of chemotherapy, as well as radiation treatments, will be able to treat his cancer. Each round of chemotherapy costs $1,200. His doctors have not yet decided how many rounds of radiation he'll need.

Gregg has been an integral part of our community at Holy Apostles. He's a wonderful, thoughtful friend, always thinking of and serving others. He's devoted countless hours to building and maintaining our church, pouring craftsmanship into every project he's done. The impact he's made on this church cannot be measured.
