Donate to Grace's Eagle Project: Scouting for Instruments
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Grace and I’m a Life Scout with Troop 147 in Holland, Pennsylvania. The goal for my Eagle Project is to assist the children of families who can’t afford to rent instruments. Playing cello has always been one of my passions and I believe everyone should have the opportunity to play music too. Music can expand creativity, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve mental health. The goal of my Eagle Scout project is to provide better access to instruments for children whose parents might not be able to afford it otherwise.
While one part is collecting donations of instruments, many of them, along with instruments currently in use, are severely damaged and will require significant repairs to be playable again. The parts required for the repairs can be quite costly and some of them will even need professional repair. Each well-loved instrument I can have professionally repaired will provide another student with the opportunity to further explore their passion for music. Any funds not used for repairs will go to the Council Rock Music Foundation to further opportunities for future students.
You can also support this project by attending the benefit recital/drive on Friday, January 31st at Holland Middle School. If you have instruments to donate, you can bring them to the drive from 6-9 PM, and/or you can attend our benefit recital at 7 PM that same night to enjoy performances by local Scouts as we work to raise money for CRMF.
Thank you for your generosity,
Grace Arner
