Guinness “Gooby” the cat has been the light of our family for almost 8 years now. Whether it was him opening the door while we used the restroom (and climbing into our laps), having a sixth sense for when we were folding warm laundry, being best friends with our dog Finn (despite Finn disagreeing), or somehow taking up half our beds when we sleep, our house would be half as full without him. So when we rushed him to the emergency room a month ago, we knew we would do anything for him, as he has done so much for us.
Guinness had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that caused his stomach to herniate into his chest cavity. He required emergency surgery and has been having trouble recovering ever since. Lately, his GI motility has halted, causing his stomach to become distended and hasn’t been able to digest anything. He has had multiple stays at BluePearl animal hospital, who has done amazing work on his surgery and trying to treat his post-op issues.
The multiple stays at the hospital over this month has cost our family around $15,000. Guinness is obviously worth every cent, but we are struggling to afford this care as well as our other expenses.
If you met Guinness, you would know immediately how much he means not only to his family, but to anyone who has gotten the pleasure of meeting him.
Please consider donating to cover a small portion of his medical bills. It would allow us to worry less about finances and give Guinness the full attention he deserves.
