Donate to Give Kayden's Family a Fresh Start

My name is Kate Taylor, and I'm organizing this fundraiser for my foster child, Kayden Amber, in an effort to raise funds for them and their family to move to a safer, more secure environment with their partner and their 3 children. If there was ever a person deserving of help, Kayden is one of them. Kayden is a survivor and an incredibly hard worker, who is currently working several different jobs to try to make ends meet. An opportunity has come up for the family to move into a 3-bedroom apartment, which would accommodate the family's need for more living space. However, it would require a total of $4,000 for first, last, and security deposit. Despite working multiple jobs, this amount of money is out of their reach, and time is of the essence. They need to raise this money as soon as possible so as not to lose this apartment.

Just to give a little context, Kayden has been through an absolute living hell in the past few years, but instead of allowing circumstances to bring their life to a halt, they became a fierce community organizer and advocate for those who are most marginalized. Kayden fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. Now it's our turn to lift them up in their time of need. In the past few years, Kayden has dealt with enormous loss and grief, yet they still found a way to survive these horrible times. The loss of their cousin, Amanda Cahill, at the hands of the system, nearly drove Kayden to despair, but instead of allowing these horrible circumstances to defeat them, they turned their enormous loss into community organizing and action in honor of Amanda. This past winter, they survived a terrible car accident that left them with accumulating medical bills and residual health problems, but they still continued to take on the system while recuperating from home. They're still recovering from the accident, but not working isn't an option. Their current living situation is less than ideal, and it's imperative that Kayden and their partner find somewhere else to live. A place that is conducive to healing and peace. A place to call home. We all deserve that much.

I've known Kayden since they were 15 years old. I've watched them grow into adulthood. More than that, Kayden is like my own child, and they deserve to have a place to come home to where peace is accessible. If you knew what Kayden has survived, the amount of trauma and loss they've overcome, you'd be amazed. They never ask for help, so I'm asking now. Please help me in raising funds for my beloved "bonus" kid. Every bit helps. Please give back to someone who works tirelessly for others. Let's try to make their dreams come true. Let's get them this living space. Let's show them how much we love and appreciate them. ❤️
