Hello! My name is Tara and I'm organizing this fundraiser for my brother Josh and a new kidney transplant. A little backstory on my brother's health condition. Josh has been fighting an incredibly difficult battle since the Summer of 2000, when he was diagnosed at a young age with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), also known as Wegeners Granulomatosis. This is a rare, serious autoimmune disease. Over the years Josh has endured extensive treatments, including high doses of steroids, and ongoing immunotherapy, along with countless hospital stays and doctors visits. Josh currently undergoes dialysis 3 days a week and 4 hours each treatment just to stay alive, while also taking more than 10 medications daily. Despite his strength and determination, this journey has been physically, mentally, and emotionally overwhelming and exhausting for him. Josh recently got approval from a transplant center to move forward with a kidney transplant! He has been added to the national waiting list. He could get the call any day and will have to go immediately. Josh is facing several months of recovery time, travel, lodging, and time away from work. We are asking for support to help with medical expenses and prepare for a life-saving kidney transplant. Any contribution, big or small, means the world to our family and brings Josh one step closer to a healthier future. We understand if you're not able to donate but do ask for your thoughts and prayers throughout this process. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
