Donate to Give James and His Kids a Fresh Start

Sunday morning, my friend James called me out of the blue, sharing his urgent need for a place to shower and to rescue his dog from the sweltering heat, as they had been sleeping in James' vehicle. I gave him some money to help him along, and on Monday, he secured a hotel room.

He stopped by the store to get change because the hotel didn’t have the correct change to give him back. Not thinking clearly, he left his keys in the vehicle. He was only in the store for a very brief moment. When he came out, his vehicle was stolen, but this is where his journey to rise above adversity begins. His dog Dobbie was still in the car along with his late wife Amy’s ashes, a heart-wrenching loss, yet an opportunity for us to rally around him.

James has three kids who are currently residing with their grandparents, and despite the challenges, he remains committed to getting them to and from school and other activities. I am raising money to help him get a decent car, and a down payment on a place to live, a symbol of hope and a chance for him to continue being a rock for his kids.

While, We cannot replace the heartbreak of him losing his dog and wife’s ashes, we can give him a reason to move forward, and that is to be able to help his kids.
