I could not be more thrilled to announce that our beloved CONOVER Cats have been invited INDOORS to a HOME!

Whether you know them as Cheeks and Rubs-a-lot, Jagwire and Snowflake, or Connor and Ferris, you know them from Conover and Dikeman Sts, snuggling in their cozy spot behind the fence.

They have many admirers in Red Hook, hence the many names. Whilst I have been caring for them for the last five+ years, I have met some amazing humans along the way. Strangers have left cases of food, blankets, treats and toys at their shelters. Neighbors stepped up to feed them while I couldn't. An 8 year old girl stepped up and became their caretaker. The postman took a liking to them and gives them treats daily as they follow him on his route. I cannot express my gratitude to everyone and anyone that has helped me care for them over the years. Thank you amazing Red Hook!!! But now their time has come. No more freezing windy nights and no more businesses telling them they have to move their shelters. Due to a very special human, EB, they are about to embark on their journey to a home. We are collecting funds to help with the process so that we can get them to a vet, cover medical costs mainly and supplies—whatever they need to live a long, healthy, happy life. Please help out if you can. We aren't wealthy and we can't do this without you I will be posting updates along with vet bills. This is a rough estimate I am hoping to achieve, and we may be able to cover the rest, hoping they don't need anything too major medically speaking. IF they do I may need to up the ante.
