In March 2023, Gillian received life-changing and devastating news: she has been diagnosed with stage 3C triple-negative and inflammatory breast cancer. These two types of breast cancer are known for their aggressiveness and high chances of recurrence. Despite facing these challenges, Gillian remains strong and positive.

She's been undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy and a mastectomy is scheduled for November, followed by radiation treatments after surgery. Additionally, Gillian has completed fertility treatments. She is also traveling to Dana-Farber in Boston to participate in clinical trials.

While her insurance does cover some of these costs, Gillian will have to bear some of the expenses for treatments and surgeries out of her own pocket over the next five years.
