Our organisation needs to install two solar power systems for the long awaited opening of Village 3!
Village 3 will be a sanctuary for children and teenagers who are currently experiencing medical challenges. Once installed, this renewable energy initiative will ENSURE TWO MAJOR SAFETY ASPECT concerns are met for these children:
1) The safe storage of the essential medications that many of the children will be relying on daily.
Refrigeration is vital for medicines, such as insulin, which must kept at a set temperature in conditions compliant to regulations, in order to work most effectively and minimise risks.
2) Additionally, the solar power systems will provide reliable lighting, which whilst enhancing the wellbeing of the children, will also be imperative for their safety at night and during the dark early hours of the longer winter months.
Without the surrounding light pollution of big cities, our rural areas become exceptionally dark. A building that lacks good lighting presents dangers. Many of the children YANA support have experienced some difficult circumstances, so it becomes even more vital to ensure they will feel confident Village 3 will become their safe haven.
Sufficient solar power will also enable adequate lighting so YANA staff can clearly check perimeters to easily oversee our young people are safe and sound whilst they sleep, to prepare for another fulfilling day of learning and socialising with their new friends!
PLEASE SUPPORT US! Every £, $ or € will help us achieve our goal to provide a reliable energy source for our sanctuary, which will become such a vital haven these children.
