Support Ge Yang's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
I am Meko Yang, a niece of Ge Yang. I am organizing this fundraiser to support my uncle's family in a time of dire need and vulnerability on behalf of their daughter, Wendy Yang.
My uncle unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 9th of 2024, leaving behind his beloved wife, his 4 beautiful children (ages 18, 17, 12, and 5), and his cherished memories.
Uncle was the foundation of the family who provided comfort, happiness, support, stability, protection, and security for everyone who was part of his life. He was a determined, strong-willed, honest, loyal, and trustworthy Vietnam War refugee who came to the United States in the late 1980s with nothing but the clothes on his back. He was able to establish himself here and build a life of stability and a beautiful family using his wealth in perseverance, courage, morality, and kindness.
Uncle had lived with my family for a large part of my childhood up until he moved out and married my aunt. From there, he created his own beautiful family and filled their lives with beautiful memories as he continued to do with ours. Uncle was like a second father to us, where he showed my siblings and me the beauty in life. He encouraged curiosity and being outdoors. He promoted creativity and having fun. His love for us as his nieces and nephews was beyond compare. His love for his own immediate family was even greater.
Over the past years, my uncle's health had started to deteriorate. He had gone in and out of the hospital many times, especially this year. Because of this, his wife had to request leave in order to tend to his needs while also making sure my cousins were not neglected, especially their youngest.
My aunt had tried to request leave because of her husband's passing, but unfortunately, her job decided to change their mind to grant her UNPAID LEAVE until NEXT YEAR rather than letting her go. The next 2 months of no stable income or financial security has only contributed to the family's unfortunate circumstances. With my uncle no longer there as the backbone and support, my aunt is struggling to mourn and tend to her children while simultaneously organizing Uncle's funeral with us all. My cousins are unable to mourn healthily or feel secure due to the concerns for unpredictable circumstances from here on out. My aunt and cousins are in dire need of support during this unforeseen chapter in our lives.
We would greatly appreciate any sort of donations in support of my aunt and cousins during this difficult time, no matter how big or small. From the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you all. Although no amount of love or support could ever replace a father's, we hope my uncle will rest easy knowing there is love and support for my aunt and his children in place of his absence.
Any donations can be made right here on the GoFundMe page. Donations will go directly to Ge Yang's family.
