As this is something we never thought of or expected to do, hard times have hit us hard. We are not the type to ask; we struggle in silence a lot. As some know, my fiancé Gary hasn’t been working since October of 2024 due to his severe low back stenosis that he was diagnosed with. One day, he just woke up and couldn’t move or walk as he normally would. He struggles with pain daily, and every day is a challenge and struggle we both face.

Also, finding out a week prior that I was pregnant, then later miscarrying, and finding out that week before about him having a 5.3 cm tumor on his right kidney that needed to be removed. We did the procedure just in time as the tumor was too embedded, and there was no chance of saving it. The results came back that it was, in fact, cancer. Gary is slowly recovering from his procedure, but what makes it harder is that he can’t walk or move as he normally would from his severe low back stenosis. As he now has to wait for his treatment to be addressed for his back due to recovery of his kidney removal. This has set us back a lil further than we thought. Gary is wanting to be able to recover as fast as he could to be able to walk again without having pain that restricts his mobility. So he can make it back to work.

We don’t like to ask for help, but lord knows we need it during this time as he is not working, and it’s just been a one-income household that has been hard to maintain. If anyone who knows us truly, then you know we hate asking for help. We never thought we would be in a position like this, especially when we are trying to plan a wedding this year and maintain the bills for our home and his medical expenses.
