Donate to fund Jorge Gassol's knee operation
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Roberto. I have set up this gofundme campaign for my Venezuelan cousin Jorge Gassol Racaza, so that his friends and family members, who are living outside Venezuela, can help him pay for a knee operation that he desperately needs.
Jorge's left knee has suffered multiple fractures and requires the placement of titanium implants and artificial bone grafts. If he does not receive this urgent care he may soon require a full knee replacement or, if left untreated, an eventual amputation.
Jorge lives with his wife in San Juan Bautista, a small town in the Isla de Margarita in Venezuela and is a graphic designer and advertising creative director. He is well-known in the town for his devotion to helping stray dogs and cats, and the town organized a local fair and lottery to raise funds for his operation. But unfortunately, they did not collect sufficient funds. Ironically, Jorge fractured his knee by falling off a scaffolding, in an attempt to rescue an abandoned kitten.
The orthopedic surgent who is going to operate on Jorge is doing so in an almost “pro bono” manner. However, Jorge and his wife need to provide funding for hospitalization and all medical expenses, including sutures, sanitary and disposable surgical supplies, anesthesia, etc. and even the soap and clothing of the medical staff. This unfortunately has now become standard practice in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
