My name is Jennifer Bias and today is my 43rd birthday. I don't make a big deal out of birthdays but this year, I want to ask for a gift. You see, my friend Ember is in a tough spot. You know what it's like. You work and you work and you work and you finally get to a good point, and then suddenly something happens and the bottom falls out. Most Americans are one paycheck from defaulting on their credit cards or missing their mortgage payment. My friend's transmission completely gave out on her and left her stranded on the side of the road. She finally got to safety but the transmission repair shop is making her put down for a large amount that she just doesn't have at the moment before they will order the part it takes to repair her transmission.
