For those of you who haven’t followed Frank’s story, we rescued him in the beginning of 2023 after being surrendered into Pug Rescue of New England. He was extremely overweight and critically ill suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis.
After overcoming this obstacle in his new life, he continued to lose weight over a few months, and live as the happiest pug until complications secondary to glaucoma surfaced resulting in emergency eye surgery.
After recovering from surgery in late 2023, he hit his goal weight and has been enjoying long walks, endless unconditional love and spending time with his two pug sisters until recently.
Frank had his first grand mal seizure beginning of this October, shaking us as a family to our core. After attempts to stop his seizures failed, he was hospitalized at Mass Veterinary Referral Hospital and was placed on seizure medications in the hopes this episode would not repeat.
Frank was doing well seizure free up until this past week when he started experiencing 1-2 seizures every other day. He is in need of further hospitalization, neurology diagnostics and treatments to determine the best outcome for our baby boy. Everyone that knows or has met Frank knows how much he means to us and how hard he worked to overcome everything life threw at him.
We are pleading for help for our beloved pug, he is everything to us and we want to continue to love and cherish him and give him the life he deserves.
Update: he survived the MRI and anesthesia and was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy! Great news considering he was heavily suspected to have a brain tumor. Hes doing well adjusting to many new medications!!
