These two beautiful souls have had a sad beginning in life, but now thanks to a whole bunch of people are on the road to recovery and a happy ending!

I was contacted about two dogs that had been dumped in a field. Animal Control had been contacted several times about them and were unable to help. They had been there for approximately one month. An incredible group of women who work near by were working together to give them what they needed to survive. They bought a dog house and were making sure they always had food and water.

The temperatures were dropping to the low 20’s and I felt I had to go there to see the situation and if there was anything else I could do to help them. As soon as I got there, they both started running towards me barking and stopped short about 10 feet. I got down to their level and pulled out some treats, they came right up to me and were taking them out of my hand. I walked over closer to their dog house and sat down, they both piled on top of me and started kissing me. I could not believe after being abandoned and neglected for so long that they were so affectionate and trusting with a total stranger. I couldn’t stomach the thought of them alone outside sleeping in freezing temperatures but I had to have a safe place to take them with no other dogs. They followed me to my car and sat outside of it staring at me. I have never felt more heartbroken than I did in that moment.

I shared them on social media and an incredible person stepped up and said they could keep them for several days during the freezing temperatures until we could find something more permanent. When we went back to catch them, they were both curled up together in the middle of the field in a ball. They saw us and came running up to us and quite literally jumped into our arms. After a few minutes we were able to get them in the car and on the way to warmth and safety. We took them to the vet the very next morning to get a full work up. During that time in public we learned that these girls were still in survival mode. They had been on their own fending for themselves and protecting one another for so long and knew nothing else. They were under socialized, timid around men and nervous around other dogs. Dogs with trauma like this can’t survive in a shelter environment and rarely will make it out.

We knew they needed much more than a loving foster home. We made the decision to put them in a board and train where they will have the opportunity to be set up for success! Here they will be socialized with men and other dogs, learn how to dog, learn routine, know they are safe and thrive as individuals! Today their next chapter begins at Chasing Tails Pet Farm! We feel confident they will be able to give them what they need to blossom!! These 2 girls deserve the world and I know they have an army of people following their journey who want to help! Please donate to help cover the costs for their board and train! No amount is too small! And if you can’t contribute, please share! One share can reach so many more people. I am going to be sharing updates along the way on their progress!! Both of these girls will need a foster home or forever home once their training is complete! If you are at all interested in fostering or adopting either one of them, please reach out to me! None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for all of the amazing people who stepped in and stepped up to help these girls. No one single person could have done this. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you! Please Share and donate to Frankie and Jovi’s new beginning!!!!
